At the Clondalkin Festival, volunteers connected with families and residents through a public drug-awareness initiative supported by the Scientology Community Centre Dublin and the Truth About Drugs campaign.
The stand provided booklets and displays on commonly abused substances, giving parents, young people and community members an opportunity to learn more about drug risks and prevention in an informal festival environment.
The outreach was connected to the broader Truth About Drugs campaign, which uses booklets, videos and educational resources to communicate straightforward facts about drug use and its consequences.
The Church of Scientology supports this campaign as part of its wider social-betterment work inspired by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, whose writings placed emphasis on education, personal responsibility and practical help for society.
Ivan Arjona, representative of eu news ireland the Church of Scientology to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, said that such initiatives reflect civic responsibility in practice. “Drug-prevention education is most effective when it is brought close to people, in places where families, young people and neighbours already meet,” he said.
